Giorgia Meloni to Trump: Italy and I Will Never Beg Anyone Like You
Fawzea sediqi- Giorgia Meloni, Italy's Prime Minister, in a sharp response to recent remarks by Donald Trump, described the U.S. President's claims as "completely fabricated" and emphasized that neither Italy nor she would ever bow or beg before anyone, including the President of the United States.
Speaking at a press conference, Meloni addressed Trump’s recent statements, stating that some issues require an immediate response and dismissed the U.S. President’s claims as baseless and far from reality.
The Italian Prime Minister, expressing shock at Trump’s behavior, added: “Frankly, I am shocked and I don’t understand why the President of the United States treats his allies this way.
This is not the first time this has happened, and this trend is concerning.”
Meloni, with blunt language, called on Trump to apply the same firmness and toughness against the enemies of the West and America, rather than against allies and partners.
She emphasized that Trump’s approach toward leaders with whom he typically adopts a softer and more accommodating stance raises questions.
In the concluding part of her remarks, Meloni addressed the U.S.
President with a decisive tone: “He should remember one thing; Italy and I will never beg anyone like you.”
Meloni’s sharp remarks reflect growing tensions in Washington-Rome relations and carry the message that America’s European allies will no longer tolerate Washington’s unilateral approach.
This reaction from one of Europe’s key allies could signal a shift in transatlantic relations.
