Macron: “We did it swimming in the Seine becomes a reality after 100 years”
Paris – French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a century-old promise is finally being fulfilled: people will once again be able to swim in the Seine River.
Weezharoz-“One of my predecessors, while Mayor of Paris, dreamed of a Seine where everyone could swim. Tomorrow, that promise will be kept,” Macron wrote on social media.
He highlighted this as a legacy of the upcoming Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, calling it a collective achievement and a source of national pride.
“This is the result of joint efforts — thanks to the regional Prefect, the Paris City Hall, the Val-de-Marne Departmental Council, all elected officials, and everyone involved,” he said.
“After 100 years of prohibition, we’ve done it.”
