Ethical and Behavioral Scandal: Fourth Member of Iran’s National Athletics Team Arrested for Theft in South Korea

Kabul-In a continuation of the scandals surrounding Iran’s national athletics team during the Asian Championships in South Korea, a new report has confirmed the arrest of another team member for theft.

WeezhaRoz-According to Independent Persian, Mehdi Haft-Cheshmeh, Iran’s hammer thrower, was arrested for allegedly stealing the phone of a foreign athlete.

A source close to the team stated that Haft-Cheshmeh was released after several hours in detention, following the payment of a $400 fine and receiving a two-year suspension from the Asian Athletics Association.

Earlier, three other team members had already been arrested on charges of raping a Korean woman an incident that drew widespread attention across regional and international media, seriously damaging the image of Iranian sports in Asia.

These incidents occur despite the high ethical and behavioral standards expected during international sports events.

Sports analysts have attributed the series of misconduct to poor selection processes, lack of ethical training, and inadequate oversight over national team members.

This latest scandal could have severe consequences for Iran’s sports reputation internationally and may lead to potential suspension or restricted participation in future competitions.
