Expansion of Political and Economic Relations: Poland’s Special Envoy Meets Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister

Kabul-In continuation of diplomatic engagement between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and European countries, Witold Sobków, Poland’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, met with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, in Kabul.

weezharoz-During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on bilateral political and economic cooperation, challenges faced by Afghan migrants in Europe especially in Poland and several regional issues.

Mawlawi Muttaqi emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is pursuing a balanced and economy-oriented foreign policy and seeks to expand relations with the international community.

He noted that Poland could benefit from emerging investment opportunities in various sectors across Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister further highlighted the need to increase engagement and coordination between the foreign ministries of the two nations to strengthen bilateral ties.

Poland’s envoy praised the Islamic Emirate’s efforts in ensuring nationwide security and tackling administrative corruption.

He stated that Poland is exploring options for economic investment in Afghanistan and reiterated his country’s commitment to addressing the concerns of Afghan migrants in Europe.

In recent years, Afghanistan-Poland relations have primarily focused on humanitarian cooperation and migrant affairs.

However, since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, these interactions have expanded into new diplomatic and economic dimensions.
