Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health Launches Awareness Campaign with Distribution of 20,000 Posters
Kabul-The Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan has launched a large-scale public awareness campaign aimed at preventing the spread of the deadly Congo virus. As part of this initiative, the Environmental Health Directorate will distribute 20,000 informational posters across all districts of Kabul city.

Weezharoz-This campaign is being conducted in coordination with other relevant departments of the ministry and focuses on protecting public health and preventing virus transmission.
Officials from the Environmental Health Directorate stated that the campaign specifically targets people at high risk, such as butchers, livestock handlers, and those in direct contact with animals.
The primary goal of the campaign is to reduce infection rates, prevent transmission of the virus, and lower the mortality rate associated with Congo fever.
Residents of Kabul are encouraged to visit designated health centers to actively participate in the campaign and receive the educational materials.
This move by the Ministry of Public Health comes ahead of Eid al-Adha, a time when the risk of zoonotic diseases, such as Congo fever, significantly increases due to the handling and slaughter of animals.
The ministry emphasizes that through preventive measures and public cooperation, potential health crises during the holiday can be effectively avoided.
