Claim of TTP Leader’s Death in Afghanistan: Reality or Public Distraction?
Kabul-While several social media accounts linked to Pakistani intelligence agencies have claimed that Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), along with some of his associates, was killed in Afghanistan, independent sources have rejected the claim, calling it a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from the ongoing crisis in Balochistan.

Weezharoz-According to informed sources, the claim surfaced amid a serious situation in the Surab area of Balochistan, where Baloch insurgents have stormed government facilities, taken control of residential areas for state employees, and set them ablaze.
Many analysts believe that such narratives, circulated by intelligence-linked outlets, are intended to ease public pressure and shift media focus away from the internal unrest in Balochistan.
In response to the claim, sources from the banned TTP group told I On Frontlines that reports of an attack on Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud in Afghanistan are entirely false.
These sources stressed that the TTP leader is currently in Pakistan and has not been targeted in any such attack.
Given the history of similar disinformation and media operations, political observers caution against accepting such reports without verified evidence and urge both media and the public to approach such information with critical scrutiny.
