Large Shipment of Explosives Seized at Khost Customs, Afghanistan

Kabul-Officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have announced the discovery and seizure of a large shipment of explosives at the customs checkpoint in Khost province.

Weezharoz-According to Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, the explosives had been cleverly concealed inside imported boilers filled with decorative items, and were being transported in a commercial truck that had entered Afghanistan from a neighboring country.

While Fitrat refrained from naming the country of origin, he stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.

This incident follows recent comments made by former U.S. envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, who claimed that Pakistan’s deportation of Afghan refugees included individuals affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS), potentially relocating them to Afghan territory.

According to official reports, the seized materials include 270 kilograms of gunpowder, 100 timing fuses, 36 canisters of firecrackers, and other explosive components.

Suspects involved in the smuggling attempt have been arrested and handed over to security agencies for further investigation.

Khost customs officials confirmed that this interception is part of ongoing efforts to prevent the entry of explosives and enhance border security.

They stressed the importance of maintaining strict inspections and vigilant monitoring across border points.

Afghan security authorities reiterated their firm commitment to combating smuggling and emphasized the need for regional and international cooperation to ensure long-term stability and security along Afghanistan’s borders.
