Afghanistan Rejects Pakistan’s Claims on Attack on Passenger Train in Balochistan

Afghan officials have rejected recent claims by the Pakistani military regarding the connection between an attack on a passenger train in Balochistan and Afghanistan, calling them "baseless and irresponsible" and urging Islamabad to focus on addressing its own internal security problems. Yesterday, an armed attack on a passenger train in Pakistan's Balochistan region resulted in the deaths and injuries of several civilians.

Weezha Roz-Kabul–The spokesperson for the Pakistani military, without providing specific evidence, linked the attack to Baloch opposition groups and claimed that these groups “plan their operations from Afghan soil.”

In a statement, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “We categorically reject any connection between Baloch groups and Afghanistan.

Neither Baloch opposition members are present in Afghanistan, nor has such a connection existed in the past, nor do they have any ties with the Islamic Emirate.

” The statement further described Pakistan’s claims as misleading and an attempt to deflect from its own security shortcomings.

The spokesperson added, “We strongly condemn the loss of innocent civilian lives.

The use of ordinary citizens for political purposes is unjustifiable.

Instead of throwing accusations, Pakistan should focus on addressing the root causes of its internal crises.”

Balochistan, Pakistan, has long been the scene of violent conflicts between local separatist groups and government forces.

Islamabad has repeatedly accused Baloch groups of receiving support from outside, but international experts often consider these claims to be unsubstantiated.

These accusations come at a time when Afghanistan-Pakistan relations have been fragile in recent years due to issues such as the presence of Islamic Emirate forces and border disputes.

Analysts warn that baseless accusations could fuel further tensions in the region.

It is noteworthy that no group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the mentioned train.

Human rights organizations have called for an impartial investigation into the incident and urged that civilians not become victims in political conflicts.
